In years 10 and 11 our students follow a curriculum which inspires them to be successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens, providing them with evidence towards there C.O.P.E. qualification which is worth one GCSE. Students can choose their own pathway from one of the following -
Sport Specific Leaders Award -
Providing NGB qualifications in tennis, football and rugby as well as performingbasketball, badminton and cricket.
Level One Sports Leaders Award -
Providing a leadership qualification, allowing our students to coach in local primary schools.
Activ' Boys -
Providing our students with new activities as well as popular traditional ones. Includes fitness, table tennis, trampolining and ultimate frisbee.
Activ' Girls -
Providing our students with new activities as well as popular traditional ones. Including trampolining, aerobics, stoolball and benchball.
In addition they can opt into our 'Healthy Livin' offsite block, this includes -
Bungee trampolining
Swimming at Sovereign Centre
Bowling
Isopar gym at Sovereign Centre
Lazer Quest
Sailing and Windsurfing.
GCSE / BTEC
In Year 9 options students can choose either GCSE or BTEC Sport in addition to core PE.
GCSE PE
This provide the opportunity to study a single (1 GCSE) or double award (2 GCSE), as well as other GCSE's in other traditional areas.
BTEC SPORT
This provides the opportunity to specialise in sport and takes up most of their option block.
